Another Sales Haul

Being the shopping addict that I am, I had a wander around the Penneys in Galway today. Picked up a few bits all on sale. I just couldn't help myself. So first is a pair of knee high cosy socks. I had a pair before but they got a bit worn out. They keep falling down it gets very frustrating. So when I saw these for a euro I couldn't pass them up.

I saw this skirt a while back and I was going to get it but I was going through a phase when I was not buying black or at least I was trying not to buy black. That didn't last long haha. I love the design on it so when I saw it today originally 11 euro reduced to 3 I decided to finally buy it.

Then I picked up this plain top. I just liked the colour. It was 3 euro reduced to 1. To be honest now that I brought it home I'm not to sure how I feel about the colour but for a euro I'm sure it will be worth it.

This next top I have in blue but the strap broke the first time I wore it. I really hope it was just that one and that the same thing doesn't happen to this one. It was reduced to a euro so I decided to risk it. I get the feeling they didn't sell very well because my blue one was reduced from 13 euro to 5 if I remember right and now they are only 1. Might go back tomorrow and get the black one haha.

This last top I was a little unsure about because it zips all the way down in the back but I thought it was cute and a little different from the other crop tops I have. I like the kind of slants or partial cut outs I guess I don't know what else to call them. I haven't tried it on yet but hopefully it looks nice. This top was 11 euro reduced to 1.

That makes three tops in Penneys all 1 euro. I was so happy with the tops even though I didn't try them on. It was a bit crazy in there probably the usual for a Saturday. I might have another peek tomorrow haha. I also picked up another pair of tights with the built in sock. I wore the pair I got last week for the first time today but they were so comfy I decided to pick up another pair. For 2 euro sure why not :) Most of my tights are the rib ones (I think that's what they are called) but the velcro of my jacket has been giving them little pulls so going to have to either pick up a few new pairs of tights or just be more careful :)

I also had a wander around a few other shops but the only other one I picked anything up in was Cara. My first purchase was a Catrice gel eye liner brush. I had one of these before but I lost it. I never replaced it because I had an angled brush from I set I got as a gift. Sadly I forgot that angled brush at home when I came back to Galway. I've been using a smudge brush to put black eyeshadow on my lid to give a similar effect but I missed my gel eyeliner to much so I caved and bought this brush today. I love how one side is an angled brush and the other is bent. It makes it really easy to get a nice line :) I believe this was 2.79.

I also forgot my Yes to Cucumber cleanser. I've been using my Sephora cleansing oil to take my makeup off but I've been bad and have not been cleansing. I must say my skin got pretty clear until this morning considering I wasn't using cleanser. Anyway I decided since I was starting to break out a bit I would get a new cleanser. I wasn't sure what to get at first. I saw this Neutrogena Visibly Clear pore & shine daily wash. It says 'visibly mattifies the skin and unclogs pores with tangerine & time'. I hope this ends up being a good purchase. It was 5.58 reduced to 3.49 in Cara.

New Years bargains

So I picked up a few things in the sales this year. I think I got a few good deals. As usual the majority of what I bought was from Penneys. I also had a look around the Athlone Shopping Centre. Surprisingly I didn't see much that stood out apart from the one thing I bought which I absolutely love! :) So lets start from the beginning.

When I first went to Penneys I picked up four items. So I'm going to start with the blue top. I have something similar in green and I love it but I love the blue one even more! :) It was reduced to 3 euro. Next is the black top. I saw these in Penneys before Christmas and I wanted one but with all the Christmas shopping I decided against it and I am so glad I did! It was originally 8 euro reduced to 3 :) Next is the red dress. I haven't even tried this on yet but I live the style of it so hopefully it looks nice and all when I get around to wearing it. :) This was 7 as you can see on the sticker reduced to 3. And finally the white top. It reminded me of a top I saw in the summer in New York. It is see through but I have so many camisoles that I can wear under it. Its great for going to the gym too because it is very light. I can't remember what this was originally but it was reduced to 2 euro. How could I pass that up :)

A couple of days later I was back in Penneys. One of my friends bought a pair of shoes that were so adorable. I couldn't restrain myself from buying a pair especially when she said they were really comfortable. I love the boots to look at but personally they kind of hurt my baby toes :( but I love them regardless. The boots were 18 euro and they are so cute. I also bought a pair of tights with a built in sock. So excited to give these a try. They were reduced to 2 euro. Kind of wish I got another pair. I also got a pair of white knee high socks. The plan is to wear them with the boots :) they were only a euro how can you go wrong.

The last fashion thing I bought was a jacket in H&M. I got a voucher for a present and was so excited to have a look in H&M, River Island, The Body Shop and a few of the other shops in there. I was a bit disappointed I didn't see anything I liked. Then I went into H&M and I saw this jacket. I wasn't sure whether or not to get it. I didn't know if it would suit me or not so I got a second opinion and decided to buy it. I'm so glad I did.  I think it was 39.95 reduced to 20 euro. I love it. One of my favorite purchases I must admit.

As for beauty products I finally got my hands on a L'Oreal Nude Maqique Eau De Teint foundation in the shade 110 Warm Ivory. So far I'm a little undecided. I like the feel of it. Sometimes I forget I have it on which is a pleasant change from some of the other foundations I've had in the past. Even though I love makeup I'm a little lazy when it comes to concealer. This covers some maybe most of the redness and spots. Maybe that's a good thing I might actually start wearing concealer haha. The thing that really bothers me is in certain light its a bit dark or orange or something. Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid. This has been on offer for a while now but I kept putting it off. I decided to get it before the offer ended. It was 7.99! :)

I hope to do a bit of shopping in Galway if there are any bargains left ;) Fingers crossed there are still some nice bits and pieces! :)

WA Cafe

So my housemate introduced me to this amazing place WA cafe about a month ago. It is the most delicious affordable adorable place. It is a Japanese Sushi cafe/restaurant near the docks in Galway. It is amazing. I had never tried sushi but I wanted to try something new so we decided to go. I loved it! A few weeks later I went again with a friend from home. It's just so nice I just had to bring someone haha.  At first it might not look like a lot of food but believe me it is so filling. The second time I was there I couldn't finish my food. I ended up bringing the leftovers home but I forgot to bring them back from Galway the next day. I only remembered when I was on the bus. You can imagine I was pretty annoyed with myself.

I strongly recommend it to anyone in the Galway area or that is visiting. It is so delicious. Luckily my friend came prepared with the camera :D Looks so good can't wait to go back soon!

Reminiscing About 2013

The best of 2013. Where to start.  A lot has happened, good and bad.  Thanks to my amazing friends its been a good year for the most part. Some of the bigger and better parts of the year include going back to New York after moving to Ireland over 7 years ago. It was a great summer. I met some lovely people. I also ran into a few people that went over on J1s for the summer.

Here is a picture of me at the Botanical Garden

It was when I came back after the summer that I started my blog with the help of my friend Jess.(check out her blog here http://lashingsofmascaraon.blogspot.ie) Even though I haven't posted a lot since I went back to college, I'm glad I started my blog. I got to meet some lovely bloggers at the OohLaLa blog awards, Rebecca Casserly's Galway meet up (from http://www.becboop.com/)  and Samantha Johnston's  Dublin meetup (from http://allthebuzz.co.uk/).

College

I started my final year of college this year. Its been a crazy year. I've had a few crazy nights out with the girls, a few panicky nights of study for exams and more recently a few nervous bouts thinking about the results but have to hope for the best. I must admit though I'm jealous of the people that know what they want to do when they finish their undergraduate degree. Personally I have no idea. All in good time I guess.

Beauty Products of 2013

Normally I can't stick with one foundation for long. Over the summer I picked up a Revlon Colourstay for something around $13 and I was obsessed but being a student it's not always possible or a good idea to spend the roughly 20 euro for it in Ireland. Although saying that I should probably invest since I haven't found anything with the lasting power quite like it. I keep changing foundations 10 euro here and there is not good after a while especially when a week later I want a different one again.

(sorry for the bad pic it's the only one I have and the bottle is in Galway)

I've also been loving my Wet n Wild Coloricon trio in Silent Treatment. I love the way they last all day. I've hit pan on the lid colour and really wish I had another. I think it's a great everyday shadow. The fact that it doesn't crease even after hours of wear makes me reach for it day after day. I think the only time I've seen this shadow crease was one day when I put it on really early in the morning and I was heading out that night so it had creased a little by 9 or 10 pm.

This is Silent Treatment

Another 2013 favorite is the Sephora cleansing oil. I heard on youtube it was a dupe for the Mac cleansing oil. I picked it up over the summer and it gets pretty much all the makeup off. Its amazing. I've stopped using makeup remover wipes for the most part. I'm so glad I did. I really prefer the cleansing oil and/or my Yes to Cucumber cleanser.

I'm sure there are plenty more products that I should be including in this posts but these are the ones that stood out most. I hope you all have a happy and healthy new year!

:)
