Reminiscing About 2013

The best of 2013. Where to start.  A lot has happened, good and bad.  Thanks to my amazing friends its been a good year for the most part. Some of the bigger and better parts of the year include going back to New York after moving to Ireland over 7 years ago. It was a great summer. I met some lovely people. I also ran into a few people that went over on J1s for the summer.

Here is a picture of me at the Botanical Garden

It was when I came back after the summer that I started my blog with the help of my friend Jess.(check out her blog here http://lashingsofmascaraon.blogspot.ie) Even though I haven't posted a lot since I went back to college, I'm glad I started my blog. I got to meet some lovely bloggers at the OohLaLa blog awards, Rebecca Casserly's Galway meet up (from http://www.becboop.com/)  and Samantha Johnston's  Dublin meetup (from http://allthebuzz.co.uk/).

College

I started my final year of college this year. Its been a crazy year. I've had a few crazy nights out with the girls, a few panicky nights of study for exams and more recently a few nervous bouts thinking about the results but have to hope for the best. I must admit though I'm jealous of the people that know what they want to do when they finish their undergraduate degree. Personally I have no idea. All in good time I guess.

Beauty Products of 2013

Normally I can't stick with one foundation for long. Over the summer I picked up a Revlon Colourstay for something around $13 and I was obsessed but being a student it's not always possible or a good idea to spend the roughly 20 euro for it in Ireland. Although saying that I should probably invest since I haven't found anything with the lasting power quite like it. I keep changing foundations 10 euro here and there is not good after a while especially when a week later I want a different one again.

(sorry for the bad pic it's the only one I have and the bottle is in Galway)

I've also been loving my Wet n Wild Coloricon trio in Silent Treatment. I love the way they last all day. I've hit pan on the lid colour and really wish I had another. I think it's a great everyday shadow. The fact that it doesn't crease even after hours of wear makes me reach for it day after day. I think the only time I've seen this shadow crease was one day when I put it on really early in the morning and I was heading out that night so it had creased a little by 9 or 10 pm.

Another 2013 favorite is the Sephora cleansing oil. I heard on youtube it was a dupe for the Mac cleansing oil. I picked it up over the summer and it gets pretty much all the makeup off. Its amazing. I've stopped using makeup remover wipes for the most part. I'm so glad I did. I really prefer the cleansing oil and/or my Yes to Cucumber cleanser.

I'm sure there are plenty more products that I should be including in this posts but these are the ones that stood out most. I hope you all have a happy and healthy new year!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful year, the Botanical garden looks so beautiful! Love revlon colorstay but definitely know what you mean about the price, it's quite expensive for a drugstore foundation and sometimes, as a student myself, I just can't justify it to myself!
    Happy new year! L xo
